- Auxiliary
control device monitors and accounts for G3 FAX usage
- Compatible
for use with Card-access Terminals, PLUS
Accumulators, and Accumulators to create a fax
vending or chargeback system
- Counts only
confirmed pages or all pages transmitted
- Differentiates
local, long distance, and international calls to
allow variable cost per page
Controls Both
Outgoing and Incoming Transmissions
The
DANYL FAX Page Counter is an auxiliary control device
that connects between an auxiliary control device that
connects between a G3 facsimile machine and a
telephone line to control and monitor FAX usage. The
Counter is used in conjunction with a
"Controller" a DANYL Card-access
Terminal, PLUS Accumulator, or Accumulator. The
Controller both controls the operation of and supplies
power to the FAX Page Counter.
Upon
receiving an "enable" signal from the
Controller, the Fax Page Counter allows outgoing or
incoming FAX transmissions to commence. As the
transmission occurs, the Fax Page Counter monitors the
phone line to detect dialed digits and identify each
G3 page. It then transmits page count signals or
pulses to the Controller. The number of pulses the
Counter transmits is determined by the call type
local, long distance, or international.
Forms Part of
a Fax Vending or Chargeback System
When the Fax
Page Counter is used with a Card-access Terminal, it
forms a fax vending system. This system accepts stored
value cards to access the facsimile machine and pay
for each page transmitted. Usage charges are
calculated by the Controller, and the value is
deducted from the card. Credit and limit cards can
also be used for such vending applications.
When the Fax
Page Counter is used with a PLUS Accumulator or
numeric Accumulator, the result is a fax chargeback
system. With this system, users must enter a valid
numeric or alphanumeric code to gain access to the fax
and record usage. Page count pulses transmitted
from the Fax Page Counter are stored Controller
memory. In fact, up to 2,000 codes can be stored for
fax validation and chargeback purposes.
Part of a
Wide Variety of Reprographics Controllers
The FAX Page
Counter is just part of DANYLs reprographics
product line-up. These products offer coin, bill,
card, and keypad access to copiers, facsimile machine,
and a host of other office products at educational and
corporate campuses around the country.
