Meter cards taken from each 5860C card reader can be read by he 5867. The 5867 prints out the totals read from each 5860 meter card. The 3365 has an internal Model 5860 card reader and a mechanical coin acceptor. The coin acceptor handles one coin denomination:
either nickels, dimes, quarters or dollar coins. (XCP tokens can also be accepted). Each system must be ordered for a specific coin. Multiple coins can be inserted to print multiple copies. The 2 x 8 character LCD display shows how many copies can be made by the customer. The system does not give coin change, but leftover credits can be transferred to a VendaCard®. A coin return CREM is provided to return unaccepted coins and to return coins when the system is not powered on. Price per vend ranges from $.05 to $1.55. Machine totals can be read on the display or magnetically printed on a meter read/write card.

The 5002 has a programmable message display that guides the customer through their VendaCard® purchase. Users insert $1, $5, $10 and $20 into the bill acceptor and select which value VendaCard® they want to purchase. The 5002 VendaCard® Dispenser has two separate card stackers. Each stacker can be loaded with VendaCards® of a different value. The bill acceptor can hold up to 400 bills. An optional 5860 VendaCard® System can be internally mounted to allow the user to add money to a purchased VendaCard®. The system has complete internal electronic meters that can be read on the display, printed to a hand held printer, downloaded or even retrieved via Modem. VendaCom software allows a PC to be used to set parameters and download meters either locally or remotely through a Modem.

System II VendaCards®
The VendaCards® available for System II are available in several varieties. We offer disposable paper VendaCards® and rechargeable polyester VendaCards®. The paper VendaCards® can be programmed for up to 50 copies. After their value has been used up, they can be captured by the card reader or ejected back to the customer. The polyester VendaCards® can be recharged. VendaCards® can be custom printed in any color or combination of colors. Other options include: pre-printed bar codes, signature panel and sequential numbers. Generic print VendaCards® are also available. Card specification; .010" VendaCards® with magnetic stripe.

VendaCards: Custom Printed and Generic
XCP VendaCards® can be custom printed to fit almost any requirement. XCP can use your artwork or create artwork to your specifications. All colors and combinations are available. Some other options for your cards may include preprinted bar code, signature panel and sequential numbering. Generic print and custom print VendaCards® are available in CR-SO or CR-80 size cards. CR-80 are credit card size and are used for new installations. To order cards for an existing VendaCard® system, specify high or standard security, PROM code, access code and track location to ensure compatibility.
The XCP VendCom software can be a very valuable tool for programming displays, setting price, parameters and retrieving meters from select XCP devices. VendOom runs on any standard PC and communicates serially to the coin-op models 5508 and 5509 and either serially or through Modem to the 5002 series dispensers. These coin-op and dispenser models have a 16-character display that can be programmed to run a 256-character message. VendCom makes programming this a snap. Why risk a mistake? VendCom automatically uploads accurate machine totals and stores them in a file. When your technician brings in the revenue from units, you can verify the totals gathered by VendCom. With the Model 5002 and the optional internal modem, VendCom can perform automatic uploads at specific time intervals. VendCom can also notify you when a dispenser is out of cards or in need of repair under certain conditions. VendCom includes software and a serial cable.

Datatron II Functions
The PCAS2 software package is a powerful accessory to XCP's "12 Series". It has three functions: account maintenance, machine programming and report generation. This software runs on any IBM PC or compatible system using MS-DOS 2.1 or higher. Account totals can be collected from multiple "12 Series" units (up to 256). Once data is collected from each unit, each accounts totals can be merged. The reports can be viewed on screen or printed in an invoice format. Totals can also be exported in ASCII format. The software is user friendly utilizing pull down menus for all operations. Communication options include RS-232, which comes standard, remote Modem or RS-485, which are add on options.

Stand for Front Load Copiers
The Model 550 paper security stand is designed to hold an XCP 5000 series coin-op directly in front of your copier, blocking access to front load paper cassettes. Its frame slips under the copier cabinet and requires no weight to be held by the copier or copier stand. Alock (not supplied) holds the coin-op in place. When unlocked, the coin-op swings to the right to allow access to the paper cassettes. An optional 8" extention holds the coin-op higher for easier reach. Requires Padlock.

Copiers, fax machines, doors and gates, vending machines, and computer printers can be monitored from a Windows-based PC. The central computer maintains a complete audit trail of all transactions.
Each user accesses the system with an individualized PIN card. XCP Model 5824 and 5860N card readers, attached to a device such as a copier, are linked to a Windows-based PC through an RS-485 network using twisted pair wiring. Remote locations may be linked via modem or network to the main database.
The main database is extremely flexible, and for each account, can keep track of a debit balance for a prepaid declining balance, a credit balance for billing and a record of entry or exit for access control. In addition, each device can also be set up for debit, credit, access or a combination of these. For instance, a point-of-sale cash register may have accounts that run off a debit account (prepaid) or other accounts that run off a credit account (to be billed). The database is extremely flexible and fits just about any requirement.

Computer Vending
In response to a tremendous amount of customer inquiries, this section explains the methods of vending computer systems. Computers can be vended for time of use and per printed page. XCP has vend solutions for video terminals, PC'~, Macintosh, Internet access systems and networks
The PAC can be installed in minutes on your PC or video terminal. It replaces the standard printer cable and provides an additional connection or plug for an XCP coin-op or card reader. The PAC counts a preset number of lines and sends a debit signal to the XCP device. If the user does not have enough money on their card to complete the print job, the PAC can be set to either hold or purge it. The ASCII PAC is available for both parallel and serial output.
PCL graphics version
The PCL PAC system operates the same way as the ASCII version, but it is used for vending ASCII and graphics printed to Hewlett Packard or other PCL compatible printers.
XCP has been able to hook up to laser printers for many years with an internal machine harness. Our new harness for Hewlett Packard Laser Printers has a special new feature. After the customer uses the printer and gets their change or ejects their VendaCard®, the XCP device clears the printer's buffer and releases any data that may be backed up in the terminal. This gives the next user a clear system to work from. This is available for the model 5512 series coin-op and the 5812 series VendaCard® reader and is for specific Hewlett Packard printers only.

Vend Software for Windows '95
Output Control Software and VendaPrint are the most advanced systems for charging computer output that XCP has ever offered. These software programs vend printing by capturing the print job in the PC, showing the charges on the monitor, taking the money from the customer and then sending the data to the printer. The XCP device (5570 coin-op or 5870 series card reader) is plugged directly into the PC's serial port. Not only are these systems special because they display the charges on the monitor, but the PC checks to see if enough money is available to print the complete job. If there is not enough money on the card or enough coin in the coin-op, the user is prompted to: add more money, update their VendaCard® (saving the print job temporarily), print as much as they currently have funds for or cancel the print job. OCS and VendaPrint are designed for ease of use by the customer and offer options hardware interface systems cannot.
Internet Access Vend Software
VendExec is specifically designed to charge for time and prints on a Windows 95 Workstation. A customer's VendaCard® stays in the card reader as the user sees their declining balance on the PC monitor in an adjustable size Windows box. When they select items to print, the user will be shown the charges on the PC monitor and the value on the VendaCard® will be checked for sufficient funds. At that time, the user can select print or cancel.
RCS is used to queue and vend print jobs on Novell networks. The user enters a name or code to log on. They run the application desired and select items to print. At any point the user can press a hot key view the charges they have accumulated. When they are ready print they go to a print station and enter the name or code and I charges displayed. The user can either print, edit the print job cancel.
There are two ways to vend networks: at the terminal and at t print server. If you vend at the terminal, OCS or VendaPrint must loaded on each station and the XCP device must be attached to each PC workstation. If you charge patrons at the print server, you will need a print queuing program like the ROS software program. The queuing program allows users to select their print job, which may be one many, waiting at the print server. A PAC system, hardware interface and the OCS or VendaPrint software programs can be used to charge for prints.
